Smart Boy!

Jacob got a prize from the treasure box today at preschool for being so good. He came home with a tiny water gun. (um, thanks Mrs. Kristen) Anyway, the trigger wasn't there. I was really excited about that, but Jacob decided he could fix it. So as he was doing his chore of putting away the silverware he found a meat thermometer and stuck it in the trigger hole and shot the water out. He is totally smart. I would have just thrown it away when he wasn't looking, since it was broke and all, but now we have to keep it awhile because he took the time to figure it out and make it work. Great job Jacob!!!

Shoes

Man, oh, man! I am sooo in trouble!!! I found the CUTEST shoes online this morning! Don't you think that Andi Grace needs them??? I just have to have them!

Cheesy Trouble

Today one of my friends came over to meet Andi Grace and Jacob was sitting at the bar eating dinosaur macaroni and cheese. I thought he was just busily eating until I turned around and saw this...
I'm pretty sure he didn't eat very much of it. It was all over the bar and the floor. He laughed when I got out the camera to take a picture. And then he had to help clean it up. Let me just say that the cheese on macaroni and cheese does not clean easily - it makes me wonder what it does to the inside of stomachs. (I know that's a weird thing to wonder, but I do wonder that :)

p.s. No - I don't usually let Jacob run around without a shirt on. For some reason it just bugs me. But today it was so hot in our house he got to do it for a few hours. He thought it was great.

Family Visits

My sister and her family came to meet the newest member of our family today. Aly just LOVED holding Andi and she kept taking her from other people. Brayden wanted to hold her too but he was more interested in telling Jacob just what it meant to have a little sister and what his responsibilities were now - what a cute boy! Leslie, my sister, was so happy to meet Andi Grace that she got a little teary-eyed. Chad and their youngest son Oliver were just happy to hold her. We are all just so happy to have Andi in our family.

Andria Grace is Home!

Andria Grace is home! Jacob is smitten with his little sister and he keeps asking to hold her, when he has just passed her off. He is already possessive of her! He giggled with joy when he first saw her.

We love Paige and Josh so much and it was heartbreaking to see them go through placement. But they will be okay - they are awesome people and we know that they'll get through this with the help of their Heavenly Father. Please keep a little prayer in your hearts for them.

Jacob

Today is Jacob's last official day of being an only child.
His life so far has been running through my mind
like snapshots of joy and happiness.I remember meeting his birth mother, Hollie,
and how much I loved her (and still love her) for sharing Jacob with us.I remember coming home the hospital with him.I remember the first time he smiled - and kept smiling.I remember the first time he crawled and the first time he walked.I remember watching Jacob and Shane walking down the road
together shortly after he started walking.
My heart swelled with joy to see them walking together that way.
I remember being amazed at each new thing that he was able to do as he developed into a "real boy".I remember the first time he threw rocks - he was so happy!I remember his first day of Primary - that's when I knew
he was growing up and wasn't a baby anymore.
I was so happy for him but sad that he was growing up so fast.I remember his first day of Preschool -
and how he went in the door and didn't cry -
he was just happy to be there.
I remember him running to me - so happy -
after he had finished school that day.I can't believe that Jacob is already 4! He seems like such a big boy now. He is going to be such a great big brother for Andi Grace. He already loves her so much and he hasn't even met her yet.

Introducing Andria Grace

Yesterday was one of the most amazing days ever.

I got to see our baby girl, Andi Grace, being born.

Paige invited me to stay for Andi's birth after I went to hang out with her and Josh and her family while we waited for Andi to be born. I have never witnessed a birth before and all that I can say is that it was just miraculous! I am so proud of Paige for doing so well and we are all so happy that Andi came so fast! She was born at 2:48pm and she weighs 5 lbs 11 oz and she is 18 inches long. After giving birth, Paige said "That was so easy!" I am so happy for her that it all went so smoothly. Andi came so fast that she has a perfectly round head and beautiful color. She has a head full of dark hair :) and a perfect little body. I can't wait to hold her forever!
Here is the object of all of our affection...Andria Grace! Here are the mommies...Paige and me with AndiHere are the daddies...Josh and Shane with Andi

We were so happy to get to see both Paige's and Josh's families at the hospital. And we are so glad that we know and love both Paige's and Josh's families and that we can share our love for Andi throughout her life with them.

We can't wait for Friday night - when she will be ours to hold forever! We are so proud of Paige and Josh and our prayers will be with them as they spend time with this precious little girl before placement.

When I got home from the hospital I showed Jacob and Karen (Shane's mom) the pictures from the hospital and when Andi's picture came up Jacob said "She's mine! That's my baby!" So cute!
